We know that moving office or transforming your current workspace is a new and unknown project for many and you're bound to have lots of questions, therefore we hope that we haven't answered most of them below:
How will it help my business?
If you want to stand out amongst your competitors and improve your pool of talent and your staff retention then a Space design is for you. You’ll be in a more productive environment with a more environmentally friendly workspace to enjoy.
Is a new office worth it?
Do you value your employees? Are you willing to invest in them and your business? Then the answer is YES! You’ll be showing your clients that you are successful, adaptable and up to date. You’ll thrive in your new space, guaranteed.
How will it represent my brand and values?
We tailor your design through colour, style, material and graphics. We’ll create a consistent look across your business creating a stronger, more professional brand identity.
Why will it benefit my employees?
Do you want to increase your staff wellbeing and workplace happiness? Of course you do! Your employees will have a purpose-built workspace to bring out the best in them, which will, in turn, bring out the best in your company. A well designed and comfortable workplace allows people to be proud of their space.
What style will it be?
Now, this is the best bit…what style do you want it to be!? We don’t have a ‘house design’, we look at your brand, your ethos, your values and your business so the end result reflects who you want to be.
Can I value engineer?
Always, we pride ourselves by staying within a given budget to provide you with what you need. We are happy to work to find cost-saving solutions where needed and always try and find the best price where possible
Will everyone in the company like it?
These projects are often about change management and we can help you bring the team with you on the journey. No matter how hard you try, you will never please everyone all the time. We give plenty of opportunities for feedback and we can tweak things as needed.
What impression will it give my prospective clients or employees?
Prospective clients will see a company who is willing to invest in itself, that are willing to improve and stay up to date with technology and working practices. This will allow your employees to be able to give the best possible service to your clients. They will see a happy and healthy workplace that showcases your company values and therefore an insight into the type of company you have.
Can I set the budget?
Of course! Your project manager will work closely with you to set a budget that suits your needs. They will also manage it throughout the process to ensure your project is delivered on budget.
What is our payment schedule and terms?
We will invoice you 50% of the budget at the start of the ‘build’ element, then 25% after 4 weeks and the remaining 25% on completion. Payment terms are 14 days.
Are there any extra fees?
All fees will be clearly explained in your proposal. There is nothing hidden from you. We will inform you as soon as possible if any additional fees or costs arise.
Do I need to worry about insurance?
We collaborate with you to make sure all the correct insurances are in place, so don’t worry!
Can I visit the site during the build?
You are welcome to join us on site visits to see your project as it grows. We’ll take care of your health and safety.
How often will the Project Manager visit site?
We will generally visit your project once a week, however this may change depending on which stage we are at in the process. We aim to keep the site visits at the same time and day each week to avoid confusion.
How much budget to spend?
That’s a tough one and entirely down to you. We can most certainly help you with this. The more you can afford to invest in your business then the better the end result will be.
Who are the builders?
Space are the main contractors and we have fantastic relationships with a host of reliable and experienced trades who share our values.
When can we move in?
A programme of works will be provided before commencing on site. Any changes to this will be agreed between you and Space.
What do we do about IT?
We have specialist IT installers who will work with your IT team to achieve the best solution to meet your needs.
What happens with utilities?
We encourage our clients to make their own arrangements early on in the process.
Do I need to be present?
During the buildup to the physical move process, we like to be as inclusive as possible with the client, ensuring all our clients needs are addressed. For the actual move itself…NO! Take it easy, rest up and get ready to enjoy your new workspace!
When is first/last move day?
We work to your deadlines, ensuring your move is completed within the timeframe we set together, at the beginning of your project. We aim to have you out of your old premises on a Friday and straight into your new, shiny workspace on the Monday, ready for a productive week ahead!
How is snagging managed?
Snagging is managed by our dedicated aftercare manager, who will visit your site to ensure any issues that are raised after project completion are fixed as quickly as possible.
What is snagging?
Our aftercare manager will visit your premises and make a detailed report to ascertain who needs to be contacted to fix anything that is raised.
How long does snagging take?
We aim to have all snagging issues identified within 2 weeks and rectified within 4 weeks, so you can continue working in your amazing new space!
Who is my point of contact?
Each team member in the Space office has a specialist area of expertise, honed from many years experience in that specific area. You can read more on each of our team members in the contacts page
Will there be disruption to clients work?
We always aim for minimal disruption to you and your team and that stands for the whole of the Space process. Occasionally we may need a team member to show us round the premises to point things out or meet with us to discuss issues but other than that, you’ll hardly know we’re there!
